ABOUT ME
Kelly Sonnack is a Senior Literary Agent with the Andrea Brown
Literary Agency championing creators of children's literature for all
age groups. In picture books, Kelly looks for a good sense of humor,
stories that stretch a young reader's imagination, and an authentic
voice. In MG and YA, she appreciates sophisticated, literary voices and
is also drawn to light science fiction and well-crafted fantasy. In non-fiction
for children, she enjoys projects that inspire and fascinate young readers. Kelly
is also one of the top-selling agents for children’s graphic novels; in that category
she’s most drawn to middle-grade, character-based stories.
Some of the titles Kelly represents include SCBWI Sue Alexander winner Sharon Cameron’s NYT bestselling THE FORGETTING, and her upcoming THE LIGHT IN HIDDEN PLACES (both Scholastic); David Elliott’s verse novels BULL and VOICES (HMH/Houghton); James Burks' 6-book graphic novel series Bird & Squirrel (Scholastic); Bridget Heos’ and Joy Ang’s picture book MUSTACHE BABY and its three sequels (HMH/Clarion); Kimberly Gee’s MAD, MAD BEAR and GLAD, GLAD BEAR (S&S/Beach Lane). She has a strong list of illustrator clients including NYT bestseller Kim Smith, Allison Black, Keith Henry Brown, and Simone Shin.
